Dad of the week:
Larry Shine - As seen on the Oprah Show
dsc_0207Believe it or not Larry Shine and I are related (by marriage). Larry’s brother Tom Shine is married to my Sister in Law Debbie Shine. Here are some great photos I took of Larry and his kids at my nieces Morgan’s 6th birthday party in Indiana this Summer.

What makes Larry such an amazing Dad?
Dedication to his family:
Each morning Larry wakes up at 3:30am to start to get his 9 children ready for the day. He starts with cooking dinner! He then commences getting different “shifts” of children up and ready for the long day ahead.
Humility:
The photographs that  I’ve just shared were taking during my niece Morgan’s birthday party. Morgan is Larry’s niece as well. I’ve only been in the family for a few years so it was the first time we had met.  When Larry showed up he only had (I believe) 5 of the 9 children with him.  The children were so well behaved, loving and caring to each other. It really was a site to be seen.  When I spoke to Larry he was humbled by my admiration of what he was doing.  He was so fully engaged with each child, and they all seemed so happy.
This guy is AMAZING!
